Closeup showing the tree-shape above the front door...
The tree-shape above the front porch was a home-made item, using those thin green sticks that are sometimes used to support houseplants. Cut to the appropriate length and joined together by wrapping copper wire round the ends, then wrapping duck-tape over that and finally bending them into shape and securing to the support frame. That frame was made in a similar way using bamboo canes. Finally it was all painted for weather resistance, and the low voltage lights secured with more copper wire.
The completed assembly rested in the guttering at the bottom, and at the top was held in place by the thick and stiff insulated cores of house-wiring cable, wrapped round the support frame then pushed undere the tiles, this was the quickest and easiest method I thought of, and it worked too- it didn`t fall down!
