More mini-trees and a ropelight spiral... I thought I would bring back the spiral trees too as they are always a good, eye-catching effect. Given the stormy weather we had already experienced, and were forecast to experience more of, they were installed differently to previous years. Rather than using the plastic base weighed down with bricks, the central posts were pushed directly down into the ground. I had an extra section for each tree to achieve this with, since the trees were shortened from their original height when I recieved them. The ground was very soft from rather a lot of rain so it was not difficult to push the pole sections down far enough. It was then a simple matter to stake out the guy wires and they were done - and did not show any signs of becoming dislodged either, despite taking quite a battering during December.
