Plenty of bricks and stakes stop them blowing over...
Ropelight trees are not the most stable of things when placed on loose earth and expected to stay upright in British winter storms. They soon tip over, so to stop this from happening, my quartet of electric conifers were all weighted down with piles of bricks left over from renovation of the driveway. Additional wires were added and staked down to stop the bottoms of the cone-shaped spirals from blowing about in the wind. The shorter Pifco trees had extra lengths of the nylon guy-wires left at the bottom of the spirals which were tied around the ends of the four feet, while the larger ones needed these extra supports to be added afterwards.
