Green-glass lamps are quite uncommon for some reason, red and blue are easier to find and yellow is extremely rare- I`d be lucky to ever get hold of a yellow coloured glass lamp. These little ones would have been used at theatres to outline billboards or spell out letters- and in the 1900s a large sign with hundreds of these coloured lamps shimmering and sparkling must have been quite a spectacular sight.  Shown lit on its rated voltage- in reality the green colour is a little deeper with slightly less of a yellow tint than here. |
